Södra Rörums kyrka stands in the village of Södra Rörum in Skåne, where a church is thought to have existed since the 1100s or 1200s. Local tradition holds it was once dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and it remains the parish church of Hörby.

The original church was built in the Romanesque style during the medieval period, with its stone construction still forming the core of today's building. A thorough rebuilding took place in the 1880s to designs by the architect Salomon Sörensen, giving the church its present form: a nave with a chancel to the east, a tower to the west, a semicircular sacristy, and transepts extending from the north and south sides of the nave.

Several notable furnishings survive from earlier periods. The font is carved from medieval sandstone, paired with a brass baptismal dish dating from the 1600s. The altarpiece dates from 1727, while a triumphal crucifix is considerably older, believed to date from the 1400s — a striking survival given the extensive later rebuilding of the church itself.

The church's origins are wrapped in a local legend rather than firm historical record. According to old accounts passed down by the parish's oldest residents, the church was originally intended to be built on Kvesarum land, on a small hill by the lake known as Lilla Jären. Building materials were gathered there, but each night unseen hands are said to have moved them to the spot where the church now stands — as though the site itself had been chosen by higher powers.

The church also has a modest organ history worth a mention: an 1888 instrument by Rasmus Nilsson of Malmö was praised at the time for its even, pleasing tone. The current organ was built in 1962 by A. Mårtenssons Orgelfabrik of Lund, retaining the façade of its 1888 predecessor.
