Vitsands kyrka, consecrated in 1823, is a cross-shaped timber church standing near Lake Övre Brocken in Värmland. Tradition holds that an earlier wooden church or pilgrim chapel once stood a few kilometres south, at Kyrkoudden on the lake, though little trace of it now remains.

Vitsand parish was established in the 1820s after separating from Fryksände, and the present church was built mainly during 1822-23. It is a classicising cross-church built of log timber, with a west tower topped by a lantern and dome, and transepts extending to north and south. The exterior walls are clad in white-painted panelling, and the cross-shaped roof is covered in slate.

The church's appearance changed significantly during a thorough restoration in 1899, when the original wooden shingle roof was replaced with slate and the building, previously red, was repainted white. A further major restoration in the 1930s reshaped much of the interior seen today, including the removal of a gentry's gallery that had stood above the altar. The chancel wall was raised and the sacristy relocated behind the chancel, while the north and south transepts were partitioned to create additional rooms; the southern transept now serves as a parish space.

The altarpiece dates from 1937 and includes a painting by Olle Hjortzberg depicting either the Sermon on the Mount or, as one source describes it, Jesus preaching — accounts differ slightly on the precise subject. An earlier 18th-century altar painting on canvas, showing a crucifixion scene, now hangs in the northern transept.

Among the church's furnishings, the oak pulpit is particularly notable: dated 1669 and carved in a Renaissance style with an octagonal body, it was given to Vitsand as a gift from Fryksände kyrka. The font, an octagonal wooden piece, dates from the 1920s.

The organ case, painted green with gilded ornamentation, dates from 1859, when an organ by E. A. Setterquist was installed. In 1937 Nordfors & Co of Lidköping built a new pneumatic organ behind the earlier facade, a common arrangement in Swedish parish churches of the period.
