Vänga kyrka is a granite parish church in the Fristad area north of Borås, in Skara diocese. Completed in 1906, it stands on a site with a much older church history, said to trace back to 1063, and follows two earlier medieval stave churches.

The present building, raised between 1905 and 1906, replaced a stone church of 1642 that had itself succeeded two timber stave churches dating from the 1060s and 1240s, of a type similar to the surviving stave church at Hedared. Timber from the earlier stave churches was reused in the 1642 stone church; further wood was later sent to Stockholm with plans to reconstruct the old church there, but it was destroyed by fire at the Galärvarvet naval yard in the 1920s. A timbered porch from the 1642 stone church survives and now stands within the old churchyard.

The current church was designed by A. Åson, with the plans reworked by Fredrik Falkenberg. It is built of granite quarried locally and hauled to the site by parishioners, giving the exterior its rough, unrendered walls in a restrained National Romantic style. The building consists of a nave, a narrower straight-ended chancel to the east, a west tower, and a sacristy north of the chancel. Inside, some original fittings remain beneath a panelled wooden ceiling; a thorough restoration in 1956 repainted the pews and uncovered the original colours on the pulpit and altar.

Among the church's furnishings is a stone font dating from around 1200, plainly decorated but for a simple rope-moulding around its cylindrical bowl, with a later, 1645 conical wooden font cover topped by a small temple-like structure. A carved oak Madonna figure from the 13th century, once part of the church's furnishings, is now kept at the Borås Museum. The pulpit, made in 1736, is painted with the four evangelists, while the Baroque altarpiece of 1717 and its accompanying late 17th-century altar painting depict the Crucifixion with Jerusalem in the background.

Of the two bells, the larger is a plain late-medieval type without inscription, while the smaller is an unusually flat-shaped bell of uncertain age. The church organ, on the west gallery, was built in 1976 and replaced two earlier instruments from 1876 and 1926.
