Lyrestads kyrka is the parish church of Lyrestad, in Skara diocese, Västra Götaland. The present building dates largely from 1674, though it stands on the site of an earlier medieval stone church, parts of which survive within its walls.

A medieval stone church once stood here, and portions of its northern wall are said to be incorporated into the church built in 1674. A tower was added in 1690, and the sacristy dates from the 1700s. The church now consists of a large rectangular nave with a three-sided chancel to the east, a slender west tower, a porch on the south side and the sacristy to the north of the chancel. A steep roof covered in wooden shingles, a copper-clad tower roof and an enclosed timber lantern topped with a cross give the exterior its distinctive silhouette, while the walls are roughcast and painted white.

Inside, the church is divided into three aisles beneath timber vaulted ceilings. Among its most notable furnishings is a seated wooden Madonna figure, carved in birch and dated to the late twelfth century — a rare survival from the church's medieval predecessor. The Renaissance-style pulpit, with its canopy, is dated 1652 but may have been made somewhat earlier; in 1674 it was further embellished with baroque figures of the apostles, which today are displayed on the north wall rather than on the pulpit itself. The baroque altarpiece was donated to the church in 1674 by the vicar, and the font is also medieval in origin.

The present organ was built in 1989 by Smedmans Orgelbyggeri, incorporating the façade of an earlier instrument made in 1770 by the Skara cathedral organist and organ builder Johan Ewerhardt the Elder. It is a stylistic copy of that eighteenth-century organ, and the church's organs have a long history of rebuilding stretching back to one first installed in 1674.

A 2009 renovation is described as extensive, though its specific scope is not detailed in the sources consulted.
