Emmaboda kyrka is the parish church of Emmaboda in Kalmar county, part of the Diocese of Växjö. Though it stands as a fairly modest small-town church today, its building has an unusual history, having begun life as something quite different from a place of worship.

The building was originally erected in 1926 to designs by architect Göran Pauli, but it was not built as a church at all — it served as a parish hall. It was only in 1941, following plans by architect Paul Boberg, that the hall was converted into a church, with a tower and the present chancel added at that time. The reconsecrated building was formally inaugurated as a church on 21 December 1941 by Bishop Yngve Brilioth.

Several of the furnishings reflect the mid-twentieth-century character of the conversion. The altarpiece, painted by Gunnar Theander, was donated to the church in 1935, predating the church conversion itself. The font, of grey-white marble, was made in 1943 by the Svensson brothers' stonemasonry firm in Emmaboda, while the pulpit dates from the original 1926 building. The altar and ambo are more recent, crafted in birch in 1999 by a joinery firm in Västervik.

A notable later addition is the set of stained-glass mosaic windows in the chancel, depicting the Virgin Mary, designed by glass artist Erika Lagerbielke and installed in 2000. Glass has a continuing presence in the church: candle holders in the windows and a glass light-bearer were designed by the noted Swedish glass artist Erik Höglund, whose work is closely associated with the Kalmar region's glassmaking tradition.

The church has had two organs. An instrument by Bo Wedrup of Uppsala was installed in 1942 and renovated in 1956, but it was replaced in 1970 by a mechanical organ built by Troels Krohn of Frederiksborgs Orgelbyggeri in Hillerød, Denmark, which remains in use.

Two bells hang in the tower, cast by the Bergholtz bell foundry — a larger bell weighing 734 kg and a smaller one at 418 kg.
