Björksele kyrka stands on a hill above the Vindelälven, one of Sweden's few remaining unregulated rivers, in the village of Björksele in Lycksele kommun. This small timber church belongs to Lycksele parish in the Diocese of Luleå.

The church was built in 1930 to designs by the architect Edvard Lundquist. It is a wooden building with a log frame, its exterior clad in white-painted vertical panelling beneath a shingled saddle roof. The layout follows a simple north-south orientation, with a narrower chancel to the north and a gable tower to the south.

Inside, the church is divided into three aisles, the central one covered by a barrel-vaulted ceiling and separated from the lower side aisles by columns. Walls and ceiling throughout are lined with timber panelling, giving the interior a warm, unified character typical of many Norrland churches of this period.

The pulpit was built to the architect's own design, lending the furnishings a coherence with the building itself. Before 1939 the congregation made do with a harmonium; the present pipe organ, built that year by J. W. Grönlund of Kåge, is a pneumatic instrument still in place today.

The church's riverside setting, on a rise above the Vindelälven, remains one of its most memorable features, offering a striking view over one of Sweden's last free-flowing major rivers.
