Ersbodakyrkan, consecrated in 1982, serves a part of Umeå noted for its cultural diversity. Built alongside the surrounding Västra Ersboda district, the church reflects both Sami heritage and a strong local commitment to environmental and intercultural work.

The church is constructed of brick with an irregular, polygonal plan and a separate freestanding bell tower standing near the entrance. Its most distinctive feature is the church hall itself, whose steep, fan-shaped roof has been likened to a kåta, the traditional Sami dwelling, while the colours of the chancel carpet also echo Sami design.

Inside, the ceiling is lined with untreated timber panelling that rises in height towards the chancel, where the end wall is formed as a striking light shaft roughly 12 metres tall, drawing the eye upward and giving the interior much of its character. The walls are of exposed brick and the floor laid with ceramic tiles; notably, the church has no fixed pews. The building was designed by architect Torsten Åsbjer (also recorded as Thorsten Åsbjer) and was consecrated on 10 October 1982.
