Construction of Ulvön's new church began in 1892 to designs by P G Hultman, and the building was consecrated in 1894. It is built of timber, has a tower, and seats around 200 people. The church underwent an exterior renovation in 1921, followed by a substantial restoration of the interior in 1924. A replacement church bell, cast by the Bergholtz bell foundry, was installed in 1929.
The altar and pulpit were carved by a local islander, J A Söderberg, giving the interior a distinctly Ulvön character connected to the local community rather than outside craftsmen.
The church contains two organs of note. A pipe organ, a so-called House organ built by the German firm Werner Bosch Orgelbau, was installed in 1952. There is also a chancel organ, an older pipe organ dating from the 1880s, made by Nils Oskar Alm of Boden.
