The congregation's story began earlier than the present building. From 1949 (Wikipedia gives autumn 1950 for the consecration) it worshipped in a converted military barrack, acquired with help from a military chaplain and the Gothenburg Small Church Foundation, which served as its church hall until the new building was ready in 1961.
The current church, erected under master builder Ivar Havner with funding from the Gothenburg Small Church Foundation and parish collections, is a good example of the small-church (småkyrka) tradition. Built largely of concrete, it has spritz-plastered white walls, glass-block window panels, and a steep slate-covered roof with convex gables. A slender, almost freestanding tower with a concave concrete facade rises beside the porch, topped by a spired copper cockerel. At the time of its consecration the building was not quite finished, the tower cap was still to be fitted, and the grounds were only completed the following spring.
The interior is notable chiefly for its colour: a blue-painted ceiling and a striking blue glass mosaic on the chancel wall by artist Elsa Hansson-Winnberg. A woven textile depicting the church year, by Christina Westman, is also part of the furnishings. The altar and font are made of white concrete and marble, while the original concrete pulpit has since been replaced by a plainer version in white-painted wood.
The building has been altered more than once. In 1966 the porch was remodelled to its current form, with the east wall replastered and the west wall rebuilt in glass block, again to Hansson's own designs. A single-storey parish hall, added in 1979, connects directly to the church interior through a large folding-wall opening. The church has also had its foundations reinforced and undergone general renovation, during which the pews were repainted in two shades of blue with matching cushions.
Outside, a small park laid out around 2019 offers a quiet seating area decorated with beads referencing the Swedish "Frälsarkransen" devotional wreath, along with low plantings and automatic dusk lighting, intended to create a calm and welcoming setting around the church.
