Sunnersta kyrka is a twentieth-century timber church in the Sunnersta district of Uppsala, within Gottsunda parish. Completed in 1968, it stands on an old Viking-age burial ground and offers a striking, unconventional take on traditional Swedish church design.

The church was built in 1968 to a design by the clergyman Lars Ridderstedt working with architect Jean Michon-Bordes, taking inspiration from the seventeenth-century Amsberg chapel in Stora Tuna parish, Dalarna. It was originally consecrated as a district church within Helga Trefaldighet parish, later coming under the newly formed Gottsunda parish in 1974, and it served as that parish's main church until the purpose-built Gottsunda kyrka was consecrated.

Constructed from horizontal, red-painted timber and later clad with standing board panelling, the building measures roughly 16 by 10 metres. Unusually for a Swedish church, its chancel is positioned in the west rather than the traditional east, a deliberate departure from convention in the original design. A related, mirror-image church by the same architect was built at Sälens fjällkyrka the following year.

A freestanding bell tower, added in 1970, houses two bells known as the Stefanus bell and the Franciskus bell, each carrying inscriptions by the poet Bo Setterlind. The altar is a notable feature: a 1.5-tonne slab of sandstone from Mångsbodarna in Älvdalen, resting on a timber base, given to the church by the clergy of Helga Trefaldighet parish. A woven textile hanging by Gunilla Schildt is set behind it.

The church has had more than one organ during its history. An original six-stop instrument built in 1967 by Grönlunds Orgelbyggeri was sold on in 1981, and a mechanical organ from around 1975 by the same workshop was subsequently relocated here from a nearby school building, where it remains today, positioned in the right side of the chancel.
