Enåkers kyrka is a substantial parish church near Runhällen in Uppsala län, thought to have been built around 1300 and later remodelled in a Gothic Revival style during the mid-19th century. Its medieval origins remain visible inside despite considerable later alteration.

The oldest part of the church is the grey-stone nave, built as a simple hall church with a straight east wall around 1300, though a parish and probably an earlier church existed here already in the 1200s. A stone vault replaced an earlier timber ceiling around 1475, and medieval masons decorated the vault ribs with carved figures known as 'gubbar' (old men). Wall and vault paintings followed shortly afterwards, with further extensive decoration added in the early 1500s.

By the mid-19th century the church was considered too small and the tower unsound. Following a visitation by the Archbishop in 1846, a major rebuilding took place in 1854–1855 to designs by architect Pehr Johan Ekman. A new three-sided chancel, tower with stepped gables and tall copper-clad spire, and sacristy were added, while the older porch and sacristy were demolished. This work gave the exterior its present Gothic Revival character, with brick ornamentation and tall pointed windows.

A thorough restoration in 1890 unfortunately caused lasting damage: oil paint applied to walls and vaults fused with the plaster layers beneath, harming the medieval paintings. A further restoration beginning in 1955, overseen first by architect Erik Fant and, after his death, by Jörgen Fåk, uncovered and partially recovered the 15th-century paintings, though much of the 16th-century decoration could not be saved. Only fragments survive on the south wall, alongside a medieval window opening with grey and red decoration revealed during this work.

Among the church's furnishings is a 13th-century limestone and marble font from Gotland, the oldest object in the building, together with a triumphal crucifix from the same period and a 15th-century image of St Birgitta. A carved altarpiece of North German type, probably made in Sweden in the 1480s, depicts the Coronation of the Virgin, though two flanking saint figures once part of the piece have since been lost. The Baroque pulpit dates from 1708, its canopy topped by a carving of the Lamb of God. A brass chandelier from the mid-1600s, crowned with a pelican, hangs in the chancel.

The church has had several organs over the centuries, the earliest built in 1784. The current instrument, installed in 1960 by the German firm Jehmlich Orgelbau of Dresden, retains a case from an 1825 organ by Johan Samuel Strand.
