Sörbyakyrkan is a relatively modern addition to the region's ecclesiastical landscape, having been consecrated in 1995. It serves as a samarbetskyrka, a cooperative arrangement in which the EFS (Evangelical National Mission) and the Church of Sweden jointly use the building, reflecting a pattern of shared worship space found in parts of northern Sweden.
Among the church's furnishings is an altarpiece painted by H. Hofman and M. Hammarström, which originally hung in the EFS prayer house in Antnäs before being transferred to the new church. The font is made of beech wood and paired with a glass baptismal bowl, a simple but distinctive combination of materials.
The church bell weighs around 200 kilograms and sounds the note D2, a detail recorded in local church inventories that gives some sense of the building's modest, functional character rather than grand architectural ambition.
