Sjötofta kyrka is a neoclassical wooden church in the village of Sjötofta, Tranemo municipality, standing beside Stomsjön lake. Built in the 1850s, it replaced an earlier church on the same site and retains several older furnishings, including carved wooden sculptures rescued from its predecessor.

Little is documented of the parish's first church, though medieval finds, including the large bell still in use, suggest a medieval building once stood here. A timber church erected in 1625 served the parish for over two centuries; it was painted inside by Erik Eriksson Grijs, and when it was eventually demolished, most of its timber was sold at auction, though fragments of the decorative figure paintings were later recovered and can now be seen in the sacristy and on an inner wall of the tower.

The present church was built in 1853 by master builder Johannes Pettersson, using his own designs rather than the officially approved plans of architect Johan Fredrik Åbom. It belongs to a distinctive group of nearly identical neoclassical wooden churches in the region, sharing a five-sided chancel, five bays of windows, a south porch and a slender west tower. The exterior, white with grey detailing, is said to be well preserved since construction. The church was consecrated in 1855, and a small lead box containing coins from the building period was placed in the foundation beneath the chancel.

Many of the furnishings inside have their own stories. The altar and pulpit were made by Johannes Andersson of Ölsbo, a craftsman who worked on churches across Halland and Västergötland; the pulpit's hourglass, however, is older, having survived from the earlier church. A wooden font from 1940 imitates the style of the older church's carved figures. Statues of the four evangelists flanking the altar, along with a crucifix flanked by figures of Mary and John in the “small church” area beneath the gallery, are also thought to originate from the demolished 17th-century church. Two small 18th-century benches near the entrance were once used by brides and grooms during weddings.

A renovation completed in 2008 focused on accessibility and community use: steps and thresholds were removed, a free-standing altar table allows the priest to face the congregation during communion, and new spaces including a kitchen, a small chapel and children's rooms were created beneath the gallery and in the porch.

The church's organ history reflects several stages of rebuilding. An 1870 instrument by Carl Elfström was later fitted with new mechanical works in 1925, which were themselves adjusted more than once during the twentieth century, while an electronic choir organ was added in 1994.
