Sanne kyrka stands just east of Sannesjön in Munkedal, Västra Götaland. Records of a church here go back to 1391, when Bishop Eystein's Jordebog referred to it as 'Sandarudz kirkia'. The present building, dating from 1845–1847, replaced an earlier timber church.

The current stone church was designed by the architect Johan Fredrik Åbom and built in a neoclassical style between 1845 and 1847, replacing a simple wooden church that had stood since 1708. Its granite walls, just over a metre thick, are whitewashed on the outside.

The church consists of a nave with a three-sided chancel to the east and a tower to the west, added in 1850, topped with a copper-clad roof, an octagonal timber lantern and a copper spire. A sacristy east of the chancel was added during rebuilding work in 1965–1966, when a new chancel wall was constructed in front of the original east wall.

Inside, the walls were repainted white over the plaster in 1924, when a decorative brown arabesque scroll pattern was also added around the walls. The altarpiece was painted in 1755 by Jonas Ahlstedt of Uddevalla. The pulpit, with its octagonal body, dates from the 19th century and was repainted in 1966.

Among the church's furnishings is a chalice-shaped font with a six-sided bowl, possibly from the 18th century, repainted in the late 1990s, alongside a separate medieval font of soapstone kept in the porch. The current organ, with twelve stops, was built by the Tostared organ workshop in Björketorp and installed in 1975, replacing an earlier instrument from 1918.
