Öja kyrka stands in Öja, north of Ystad in Skåne, and serves as the parish church within Stora Köpinge församling. The present building replaced an earlier medieval church whose furnishings and bells were carried over into the new structure.

The church was built in the mid-1890s, with sources giving either 1894 or 1895 as the completion date, to a design by Peter Boisen, town architect of Ystad. It replaced a medieval church that reportedly contained wall paintings attributed to the so-called Sölvesborg Master, though these did not survive into the present building.

Several older furnishings were transferred from the medieval predecessor. The limestone font, carved from Gotland limestone, is variously attributed to a medieval stonemason known as Carl Stenmästare or dated to the twelfth century, and the pulpit dates from the seventeenth century. The church bells are notably old: the smaller bell was cast in 1498 and the larger in 1599, giving visitors a tangible link to the pre-Reformation church that once stood on the site.

Inside, the chancel windows are coloured glass, and together with the church's other windows they create a bright, open atmosphere often remarked upon by visitors. In 2023 the altar was restored to what is described as its original appearance, once again featuring a large cross positioned to let light from the windows shine through.

The church has a small mechanical organ built in 1963 by the Frederiksborg organ workshop in Hillerød, Denmark, replacing an earlier instrument from 1846 and a harmonium acquired in 1922. A roof renovation in 2008 included fitting a new slate roof.
