Karl Gustavs kyrka is a parish church at Karl Gustav, in the part of southern Västergötland now within Varberg municipality, close to the shores of Lake Mäsen. It belongs to Veddige-Kungsäters församling in the Diocese of Gothenburg.

A church is thought to have stood on this site since medieval times, most recently a wooden building. That earlier church was demolished in 1828 to make way for the present stone church, built in neoclassical style to designs by the architect Samuel Enander. The same year, the parish changed its name from Skedeskamma to Karl Gustav.

The old wooden church had painted ceiling panels made in 1754 by Ditlof Ross. When it was pulled down, the boards were bought by a local farmer and used as ordinary building material. They were rediscovered during renovation work at Nösslinge church in 1950 and subsequently donated there, where they were installed in the porch ceiling — an unusual afterlife for what had been part of this church's original decoration.

The present building is a rectangular nave with an apse to the east and a slimmer tower to the west, topped with a dome and lantern typical of the period. Large round-arched windows pierce the whitewashed walls, and the south doorway is set beneath a lunette window. Inside, the bright, spacious nave is covered by a shallow wooden barrel vault, while the apse has a coffered domed vault. A gallery structure, added in 1967, houses the sacristy among other functions.

Among the fittings, the font is a notable survival: carved from gneiss in the 13th century at a known workshop in the Halland parish of Fagered, it is a plain, undecorated piece in two parts, standing around 70 centimetres high. It was sold away from the church in the 1820s and later given to a Gothenburg museum, only returning as a loan in the 1960s. The altarpiece, painted in 1897 by Philip Lindström of Kungsäter, depicts Christ in Gethsemane, and the pulpit, made around 1828 by Johannes Andersson of Mjöbäck, matches the church's neoclassical altar furnishings.

The church bells were cast in 1772 and 1812, and the present organ, with fifteen stops, was built by Tostareds Kyrkorgelfabrik and installed in 1972.
