Holmedals kyrka is a Neoclassical parish church in Holmedal, Årjäng municipality, built between 1854 and 1857 to designs by the architect C G Blom-Carlsson. Whitewashed and rectangular in plan, it stands in Karlstad diocese and replaced two earlier churches on nearby sites.

The church's whitewashed walls are pierced by large round-arched windows and given structure by corner pilasters, string courses, arched friezes and classicising portal surrounds. Inside, a rectangular nave leads to a narrower, built-in chancel flanked by small side rooms, all covered by a distinctive hipped 'tredingstak' roof.

A thorough restoration in the 1930s saw a barrel vault raised over the chancel, where a Baroque-style altarpiece salvaged from an earlier church was installed. A further renovation in 1996 included conservation work on both the altarpiece and the pulpit. Among the church's fittings is a two-metre stucco figure of Christ by Erik Nilsson of Harplinge. The organ was originally built in 1887 by E. A. Setterquist & Son of Örebro; a new mechanical organ was constructed in 1958 by Olof Hammarberg of Gothenburg, reusing the earlier instrument's facade and one manual.

The present building replaced a timbered cross-shaped church of 1686, which stood around 200 metres to the west of today's site. Before that, a medieval timber church is recorded as having occupied the same spot, though little further detail survives about it.

Near the church stands the old rectory, whose main building dates from 1806, along with the so-called Karl XII cottage, moved to the site in 1739. Tradition holds that King Karl XII spent a night there during his 1718 campaign against Norway, though this account rests on local tradition rather than documented record.
