In summer, the funeral chapel can gather people for funeral services and periods of devotion. The funeral chapel at Fredriksfors cemetery is also the venue provided by the parish for civil funerals. On such occasions, the church symbols in the chapel can be removed.
Both the chapel and the bell tower were donated to the parish by Robertsfors bruk. The chapel cost 25,500 kr to build. The architect was Harald Wadsjö, Stockholm. He also proposed a design for the stone bridge over Mårsgårdsbäcken. The altarpiece was painted by Einar Forseth. The wrought ironwork was made by the blacksmith Fredrik Hammarbäck, Robertsfors.
