Fornåsa kyrka is a parish church in Fornåsa, part of Fornåsa församling within Borensberg pastorate in the Diocese of Linköping. Its oldest fabric dates from the 1100s, though the building was substantially altered around the turn of the twentieth century.

The church began as a stone building in the Romanesque style, raised during the twelfth century. At some point in the 1200s or 1300s the nave was lengthened, and in the 1400s vaulted ceilings were added, replacing whatever timber roof had covered the medieval interior.

The most visible change to the building's silhouette came in 1900–1901, when a tower was constructed. This replaced an older freestanding bell-frame that had previously stood to the east of the church, a common arrangement in many Swedish rural parishes before towers were added directly to the church itself.

The church has had a succession of organs. An instrument with seven stops was built in 1756 by Gustaf Lagergren of Östra Husby, followed in 1879 by a five-stop organ from Carl Elfström of Ljungby, which was later moved to the Betelkyrkan in Forshaga. The current mechanical organ, with a new facade, was built in 1956 by Olof Hammarberg of Gothenburg.
