Ingatorps kyrka stands in Ingatorp-Bellö parish, in Jönköping County. Best known for its striking early twentieth-century interior and an ancient timber building in its churchyard, the church has attracted attention as one of Sweden's more distinctive rural churches.

A medieval church once stood on this site, though little is known of it since most archive material was likely lost during Danish raids in 1611. In 1755 part of the older building was demolished and a new stone west section with a tall spire was added; a further rebuilding in 1834 created a neoclassical nave and chancel alongside the earlier structure, which was itself demolished in 1838. The 1755 tower, however, was retained.

On All Saints' Day in 1911, lightning struck the tower, and within an hour it had collapsed in flames; the fire burned through the night before being brought under control. Much of the furnishings were saved, though the bells melted in the heat. The stone walls and the surviving stone portion of the tower remained standing, and the church was rebuilt in a style echoing the old tower, reopening in 1914 to designs by the architect Fredrik Falkenberg.

The rebuilt church is considered one of Sweden's leading examples of the Nordic National Romantic style, and is regarded as Falkenberg's best-preserved work. The interior is richly coloured and decorated, with a vaulted, five-part ceiling, carved animal-head ornaments, and a decorative scheme dominated by red and blue tones beneath a green-glazed timber roof. Falkenberg also designed the altarpiece, pews, gallery and organ front, giving the interior a notably unified appearance.

Despite the 1911 fire, two older treasures survive: a fifteenth-century triumphal crucifix hanging in the chancel arch, and a late-medieval altar cabinet in the nave, both believed to come from the earlier church on this site. In 1997 the church was reportedly voted Sweden's most beautiful church in a competition run by the magazine Året Runt, and in 2001 it received a building conservation award from Eksjö municipality.

In the churchyard stands a small timbered, shingle-clad storehouse, thought to have served as a tithe barn. According to a 2008 dendrochronological analysis, one of its timbers came from a tree felled sometime between 1219 and 1239, making it, by that account, Sweden's oldest dated timber building that is not a church.
