Ekby kyrka is a modest parish church in the Tidan valley in Västra Götaland, part of Ullervads församling in the Diocese of Skara. Low-lying and largely hidden from the road, it stands on a site with a long ecclesiastical history.

The present building occupies a site with medieval origins. An earlier medieval church stood a little to the south, and was recorded in an eighteenth-century antiquarian survey as a simple hall church with a shorter, lower, rectangular chancel, modest windows, a porch on the south side and a plain timber bell-stapel to the west.

The church was enlarged in 1804, when the present tower was built, and the tower was raised and given a spire in 1873. Around 1900 the older church collapsed during renovation work. Rather than repair the damaged structure, a new church was built on the same site to designs by Axel Wetterberg and Karl Hultkrantz, while the earlier tower was retained. The church today consists of a nave with a narrower, five-sided chancel to the east and the surviving tower to the west.

Among the furnishings, the font is thought to date from around 1200, a notably early survival. The smaller of the church's bells is believed to be from the fourteenth century and carries a broad inscribed band invoking the Virgin Mary as mother of God and protector of the Västgötar, though visitors should treat the exact wording as a matter for specialist reading rather than casual translation.

The organ was built in 1886 by Johan Anders Johansson of Mösseberg and later renovated and reconfigured in 1978 by Smedmans Orgelbyggeri; it remains a modest six-stop instrument across manual and pedal.
