Dörby kyrka is a medieval parish church in Dörby, in the diocese of Växjö, Sweden, standing on Högalidsvägen. Built in the 1200s, it has served the local congregation for centuries and remains an atmospheric example of an early Smålandic stone church.

The earliest church on this site is thought to have been a simple wooden building. It was replaced in the first half or middle of the thirteenth century by the present structure, built with thick sandstone walls in accordance with old Christian tradition, its chancel facing east. Unusually, the apse-ended chancel was enclosed within the building so that the east wall appears straight, a feature found in only a few churches of the period. No tower was ever built, and the church has remained towerless throughout its history. Inside, a ribbed vault originally covered the nave, separated from the chancel apse by a triumphal arch. A doorway, still visible today, once opened in the north wall, though this side never had windows.

The church suffered badly during the Kalmar War of 1611–1612, when it was plundered and burned along with the newly built rectory and, it is thought, a recently erected bell tower. It was subsequently repaired, and a sacristy was added to the north side of the chancel in 1624–25. A pen drawing from 1634 shows small, high-set windows on the south wall and chancel, along with a porch that no longer survives.

A major rebuilding in 1778–79 saw the medieval vault removed and the chancel widened, with a flat ceiling installed and new windows and a door added. Further changes in 1837 gave the interior its present character: a plain hall-church design with neoclassical touches beneath a wooden barrel vault. Several further restorations followed during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, most recently in the early 1990s, when the exterior walls—previously left as bare stone—were limewashed white.

The church bells hang in a separate wooden bell tower of the so-called Möre type, southeast of the chancel, on a site believed to have held an earlier tower destroyed in the war. The larger bell dates from 1627 and has since been recast twice, while the smaller bell, of uncertain age, is first mentioned in 1659 and was recast in 1840.

Among the furnishings, a medieval crucifix is the sole survivor of the original church interior, having escaped the destruction of 1611–12. The font, of polished Öland limestone, dates from the seventeenth century, while the altarpiece, painted in 1843 by Sven Gustaf Lindblom of Kalmar, depicts the Descent from the Cross and is said to be a copy of a work in Kalmar Cathedral. The neoclassical pulpit, an 1830s longcase clock, and an organ gallery built in 1657 and later decorated with paintings of Old Testament prophets are also notable features. The church's mechanical organ dates from 1963, incorporating an earlier case designed by the noted architect Helgo Zettervall.
