Lavads kyrka is a small parish church in Västra Götaland, within Skara stift. Its oldest walls date from the 1100s or 1200s, built of grey fieldstone and lime mortar with finely worked grey sandstone at the corners and portals.

The church's medieval origins are still visible in its stone walls, though the building has changed considerably over time. Towards the end of the 1600s the original medieval chancel was demolished and the nave extended eastwards, at which point new pews and a timber floor were installed. Only a single pew door from this 1690s work survives today, in the south chancel. A porch was added on the west side around 1770, and this remains the entrance used by visitors, while a sacristy was built onto the north-eastern end of the church in 1966.

Among the furnishings, the font is thought to date back to the church's original construction in the 1200s. Sources differ on the altar crucifix: one account describes it as medieval, from the 1200s, while another dates it to the 1700s. The pulpit, carved with acanthus leaf decoration by Olof Tholin in 1715, is typical of its period. The altar rail and gallery were probably added towards the end of the 1800s, and the current altarpiece dates from 1937.

Other notable items include a brass christening bowl from the 1600s and a rare wedding canopy (brudpäll) in yellow silk with blue panels, also said to date from the same century.

The church has never had a tower. Instead, its bells hang in a freestanding wooden bell frame erected in 1780 and later restored in 1925. A west-gallery organ, built in 1880 by Johan Anders Johansson with a speaking façade, originally had five stops; its disposition was altered in 1948.
