Tvååkers kyrka, the largest church in its parish grouping, stands on the northern edge of the small town of Tvååker in Halland. It replaced a medieval predecessor and was built in the 1850s, later gaining striking interior decoration during a mid-20th-century restoration for its centenary.

A medieval church of granite stood on a site nearby, dating back to around 1200. It had a rectangular nave with a narrower, straight-ended chancel and a south porch. The church was extended westwards in 1668, and a timber tower was added in 1688. Further alterations followed, including a three-sided chancel added in 1793, before the old building was demolished in 1852 to make way for a new church.

The present stone church was built in 1852–53 a little south of the old site, to designs by the architect Johan Fredrik Åbom, incorporating some stone and mortar from its predecessor. It is built in a nyclassical style with romanesque and gothic-influenced detailing, comprising a rectangular nave, a straight-ended chancel, and a west tower topped with a pointed spire. The whitewashed exterior features coupled round-arched windows and round-arch friezes decorating the portals and tower gables. Inside, the bright nave is covered by a shallow wooden barrel vault.

The church has been restored several times. In 1893, under architect Adrian Pettersson, it received new pews, altar decoration and candelabra, replacing the old closed-box pew arrangement, along with decorative wall and ceiling painting. In 1930, architect Allan Berglund's restoration removed this decorative painting and introduced a plainer, classicising altarpiece; one chancel portal was bricked up at this time.

The most significant transformation came in 1953, for the church's centenary, when architect Sigfrid Ericsson and artist Joel Mila reshaped the interior. Mila painted the pew ends, altar, pulpit, gallery front and chancel walls, including scenes from the life of Christ, giving the church much of its present character. The large chancel window behind the altar was closed off at this time, with light instead admitted through side windows. A gallery understructure added in 1979 now houses the sacristy.

Among the furnishings, the pulpit dates from 1859 and was later given carved figures of the evangelists and Saint Paul in 1930. The font, carved in 1954 after a medieval model, and an altar figure group of Mary and John donated in 1893, are among the older fittings that survived the twentieth-century changes. The church retains two bells recast in 1853, and an organ with a 19th-century façade that has been rebuilt and enlarged more than once.

The churchyard, extended in the twentieth century, includes a memorial grove (minneslund) laid out in 1998 around a small pond, along with older tree avenues, wrought-iron gates and gravestones, reflecting the site's long use as a burial ground.
