Vinbergs kyrka: Vinberg Church is a small cathedral-like building in the countryside.

With its size and grand execution, Vinberg Church is unusual for its kind. Churches of similar size and decoration are more often surrounded by denser settlement. The church is built in the Neo-Gothic style and was designed by the well-known architect Adrian C Peterson. Vinberg Church is one of the few churches by Peterson where both the interior and exterior have been preserved in, largely, their original condition. The church is built of granite in irregular stones, a so-called cyclopean masonry. The church was completed in 1899 and was built because the old church had become too small for the parish. In connection with the inauguration of the church in 1899, one could read in the press: "The most beautiful church in the countryside of the Diocese of Gothenburg is, according to knowledgeable opinion, said to be Vinberg Church." The star-covered ceiling above the altar is of an unusual kind, very beautiful, especially if you take a little extra time to admire it. How many stars can you count?
