Västra Skrävlinge kyrka is a distinctive octagonal-towered church in Malmö, whose whitewashed silhouette has long been a familiar landmark for locals, even though it is now somewhat overshadowed by the surrounding 1960s high-rise housing.

The church seen today was built between 1862 and 1863 to replace a medieval predecessor thought to date from the early thirteenth century. It was designed by William Klein, then Malmö's city architect. Rather than demolishing everything, the builders retained the lower part of the medieval tower and sections of the old western wall, so a fragment of the original building survives within the present structure. The rest of the earlier church, including most of its porch, was pulled down in 1860.

The exterior is whitewashed, with a portal built in yellow brick, giving the church a simple, striking presence within Ögårdsparken. Its tower, at just over 30 metres, was once a dominant feature of the local skyline before later development grew up around it. Nearby stands a large cemetery, and just a stone's throw to the south is Malmö's mosque, making the church part of a varied religious landscape in this part of the city.

The church has had several organs over its history, beginning with an eighteenth-century instrument and followed by later rebuildings in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The current organ dates from 1964, with a case designed by the Malmö firm Roos-Thornberg.

In August 2020 the church was the target of repeated vandalism over seven consecutive days, during which around thirty windows were broken and stones thrown into the building. It is a reminder that even quiet parish churches can face modern-day disruption alongside their long history.
