Welcome to Värö kyrka – the largest church in northern Halland.

Today's church is not the first to stand on this site. The first church was probably from the medieval period. At the parish meeting (sockenstämma) in 1850 it was decided to build a new, larger church, as the old one had proved too small. It was also in such poor condition that it could not be renovated. The walls of the new church were built around the old one, so that services could continue to be held in the old church during construction.
