Torsvi kyrka is a grey-stone parish church in the Uppland tradition, standing on a hillside some twenty-five kilometres south-east of Enköping. Though long thought to date from the late 1200s, more recent assessment places its origins in the 1400s, making it a fine example of medieval Swedish church building.

The church consists of a rectangular nave with a sacristy to the north-east and a small timber porch to the south-west. The nave and sacristy are built of large, carefully split grey-stone blocks, with tall, pointed gables decorated with brick blind arcading. A Romanesque-style south portal, faced in brick, forms the main entrance, while inside the nave has a wooden barrel vault and the sacristy a brick star vault.

The building has seen many changes over the centuries. Its porch was rebuilt more than once, windows were enlarged in the 1780s giving the interior much of its present character, and the roof required major repairs after storm damage in 1741 and a fire in 1763. Lightning struck the church twice, in 1811 and again during a service in 1858, prompting later safety improvements including lightning conductors. Further restorations followed in 1926 and 1954.

Among the church's furnishings is a late-fifteenth-century altar cabinet made in eastern Germany, showing the Virgin and Child flanked by carved saints, with the twelve apostles depicted on its doors; it is said to have been a gift from the statesman Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie. An unusual painted altarpiece from 1628, kept in the sacristy, depicts the Passion and is thought to be war booty from eastern Europe. A carved wooden pulpit, presented in 1645, was later moved to its current position during the 1780s restoration.

Other notable pieces include a fifteenth-century processional crucifix of Swedish workmanship, three late-medieval sculptures on the south wall, and a gilded silver christening bowl made in Stockholm in 1700 and given to the church in 1759. Communion vessels dating from the late sixteenth century remain among the older textiles and metalwork, alongside a seventeenth-century collection bag and an eighteenth-century red chasuble.

The walled churchyard, built between 1777 and 1780, replaced an earlier, probably timber, enclosure, and its lychgate dates from the same period. A detached bell tower northeast of the church was raised in 1767–1771 using timber from an earlier structure; its larger bell was cast in 1709 and the smaller in 1647. The mechanical organ, built in 1846 by Pehr Gullbergson, still stands on its west-end gallery, later enlarged in 1946.
