Tibble kyrka in Täby, north of Stockholm, is a striking modern church best known for its vast glass mosaic walls covering some 950 square metres, created by Danish artist Mogens Jørgensen. The church was consecrated in 1978.

Tibble kyrka was built to serve a rapidly growing population as Täby expanded through the 1950s and 1960s. A decision in principle to build a new church was taken in 1961, with an early priority that it should stand at the heart of the community rather than on its edge.

An architectural competition held in 1965 attracted 91 entries and was won by a Danish team of architects. The artist Mogens Jørgensen was given responsibility for the glass mosaic that would form the church's distinctive outer walls, working alongside architect and sculptor Gudrun Steenberg on the overall design.

The original winning architects withdrew before construction began, and the project was carried forward by architect Göran Kjessler, who designed the altar, font, pews and pulpit in collaboration with the artists. The church itself was brought into use in a ceremony on Advent Sunday 1976, though the formal consecration did not take place until 1978.

The rectangular interior runs from south-east to north-west, with the chancel to the south-east and a raised circular floor of stone before it. Rather than conventional decoration, the space relies almost entirely on the glass mosaic walls for its visual impact, beneath a plain, dark grey sound-absorbing ceiling. A tall wooden cross, designed by Gudrun Steenberg, and furnishings in grey-stained pine complete the austere, modern character of the church.

The building has sometimes been nicknamed the 'cathedral of Roslagen', and today it also functions as an administrative and community hub for Täby parish, housing offices, meeting rooms and other parish facilities alongside the church hall itself. The organ, built in 1977 by the Danish firm Frederiksborgs Orgelbyggeri, has a case designed by Kjessler.
