Storfors kyrka, together with the adjoining parish hall, was completed in 1959, built to designs by the architect Tor Engloo. In 1960 Storfors became its own parish, having previously belonged to Kroppa. The church was built next to the new churchyard.

The building is traditionally oriented east-west, with the chancel directly to the east, and with the parish premises joined to the church in the west. The church has a somewhat irregular plan consisting of a rectangular nave and a narrower chancel to the east. The exterior walls are clad with Glava slate. The roof is covered with copper sheeting.

Above the entrance is fixed a cross in wrought gilded copper sheeting, made by Birger Boman, who also designed the sculpted bronze door handles and a wrought-iron grille, Andens vind (The Wind of the Spirit), in the church's portico. The nave differs from the other parts of the building through its pronounced height. The twelve-metre-high interior walls are roughly plastered.

The end wall of the chancel, like the load-bearing concrete pillars, is clad with white tooth-chiselled Ekeberg marble. Through a slight break in the longitudinal axis running through the church and parish halls, the latter gain a more intimate connection with the nave.

The church's altar is made of Öland limestone. Above the altar on the chancel wall hangs a 3.5-metre-high wooden cross. A textile altarpiece adorns the altar. It was made by Barbro Nilsson using gobelin tapestry technique and depicts the parable of the Sower.
