The prayer house in Stensjön was built in 1936-37 by the villagers of Bjurselet, Backa, Stensjön and Fällan. Stensjön EFS is the owner of the prayer house.

The inauguration took place on 23 January 1938. The association's first festival was held on Shrove Tuesday 1942. The Shrove Tuesday festival has since recurred almost every year.
