Solbackakyrkan's history goes all the way back to 1905, when Sandviks Evangelical-Lutheran mission society was formed. At the end of the 1970s the need for new premises became apparent, and in 1978 the newly built Solbackakyrkan was inaugurated.

Activities at Solbackakyrkan are run by both the EFS mission society and by Holmsund parish. The gathering rooms are also rented out for children's parties, association meetings and other activities.
