Skårs kyrka is a parish church in the Skår district of Gothenburg, built in 1959 for the growing Örgryte community. Its plain brick exterior and distinctive pointed roof conceal a lively history of local fundraising, striking mosaic windows and a memorable sculptural gable figure.

The congregation's story began modestly: in 1948 a simple wooden barrack building served as Gothenburg's first small church on this site. As the surrounding population grew, parishioners, an active sewing circle and other donors raised funds for a permanent church, designed by architect Johan Tuvert. It was inaugurated on Whit Sunday 1959, reportedly costing around 400,000 kronor, met through collections, gifts and charitable sales.

The building is constructed of red facing brick with a slate roof, entered through the north aisle, and its interior walls are also of brick beneath a painted timber ceiling on laminated wood beams. A separate chancel, marked off by a triumphal arch, houses the altar against the end wall, with a central aisle and fixed pews.

On the gable stands a striking figure of Christ by the artist Bertil Lundgren, from whose hands flame-like forms rise, symbolising the sending of the Holy Spirit; the whole composition is arranged in a triangular form representing the Trinity. The church's glass mosaic windows, designed by artist Joel Mila and installed in stages during the 1960s, depict a sequence of biblical scenes from the Old and New Testaments.//The bell tower, also designed by Tuvert, held a larger bell cast in 1953 and a smaller one added in 1969, the latter reportedly a gift from the parish's young people.//The original organ, built by the Magnusson workshop and funded by donations, was in use from 1960 until it was replaced by a digital instrument in 1960s style.//Wait
