Ods kyrka is a stone church in Herrljunga kommun, believed to date from the early 1100s and unusual for retaining a medieval porch. Alterations followed during the 1600s and 1700s, giving today's building its layered history.

The church stands on a slight rise and comprises a nave with a three-sided chancel to the east, a stone porch on the south wall, and a smaller timber porch to the west. A stone sacristy adjoins the chancel to the north, and all sections are covered with shingle-clad saddle roofs. The nave and original square chancel walls date to the 1100s, with the east wall of the early chancel still surviving. The south porch was added in the late medieval period, and further changes came in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries: the nave was lengthened westwards in 1743, the chancel rebuilt in its present three-sided form in 1758, and the timber west porch erected in 1810.

Inside, the church has a flat ceiling. During restoration work in 1915, fragments of medieval wall paintings were uncovered, with sections on the north wall attributed to the 1200s and those on the south wall to the 1500s. A further extensive restoration took place around 1950, after which the church was reconsecrated.

Among the furnishings, the sandstone font is thought to date from the 1100s and belongs to a small group of related fonts named after an example at Molla kyrka, decorated with carved animal figures and figural scenes; one interpretation links these to stories of Saint Nicholas. A scholar has noted similarities with fonts found in southern and central England, including at Winchester Cathedral, though this comparison should be treated as one expert opinion rather than settled fact.

A standing wooden Madonna, carved in oak and roughly dated to about 1500, was formerly kept at a museum in Borås. The altarpiece, a relief showing the Descent from the Cross, was acquired for the church in 1695 but is understood to be an earlier Central European work, possibly fifteenth-century; it was repainted in white and gold in 1814 before being returned to something closer to its original appearance in the mid-twentieth century.

The pulpit was made in 1717 by the woodcarver Bengt Wedelin of Borås, its canopy decorated with figures and topped by a figure of Christ with a victory banner; it was moved from the south to the north side of the church in 1863. The larger of the two bells is late medieval, bearing a worn inscription in Gothic lettering that has been tentatively read as referring to the year 1502, though the exact wording remains uncertain; the smaller bell was cast in 1701 by Gerhard Meyer of Stockholm.
