Nors kyrka, in the parish of Nor in Värmland, was built between 1796 and 1798 to designs prepared by the Överintendentsämbetet, the Royal Board of Public Buildings. It replaced an earlier stone church that had stood a little to the north, closer to the Norsälven river, since perhaps the early Middle Ages.

The move to a new site was prompted by practical necessity: the river's waters had undermined the foundations of the old medieval church. The question of building afresh was first raised in 1783 by the local lawman, Reinhold Antonsson of Höglunda gård, at a parish meeting. Initial plans by the Karlstad builder Johan Georg Reincke failed to win royal approval, and new designs were eventually supplied by the Överintendentsämbetet itself; Wikipedia also credits an architect named Jacob Wulff alongside Reincke.

The finished building is a typical late-eighteenth-century parish church, with a nave, a three-sided chancel end and a west tower. A sacristy was added to the east in 1859, and an archive room was built onto the north side in the early twentieth century. The walls are whitewashed inside and out and pierced by round-arched windows. Sources differ slightly on the extent of later restoration work: one account describes changes made in 1904, including the tower's present dome, lantern and spire, while Wikipedia instead records a more thorough restoration in 1934 under the architect Bror Almquist, who had grown up in the parish. It is not clear from the available material whether both campaigns took place or whether one date is mistaken.

A number of older fittings survive alongside Victorian-era additions. The font, carved from soapstone, dates from the early 1200s and so predates the present building by more than five centuries; it retains a wooden lid from the early 1600s. The altarpiece and pulpit, with its canopy, were made in 1859 by O. L. Dahlman of Västerås, replacing an earlier combined altar-pulpit; an old hourglass bearing the date 1748 stands on the pulpit. Four seventeenth-century gravestones are also preserved in the church.

The churchyard is notable for a set of sixteen wrought-iron grave crosses shaped as trees of life, decorated with acanthus leaves symbolising the cycle of life. These marked the family graves of ironworkers connected with the nearby Edsvalla ironworks, which from the 1600s employed German and Walloon smiths who moved between various forges; the oldest of the crosses date from the 1700s.

The chancel windows contain stained glass installed in 1934 to designs by the artist Yngve Lundström. The church also has a mechanical pipe organ built in 1974 by A. Magnussons Orgelbyggeri of Mölnlycke, following two earlier instruments dating from 1852 and 1926.
