Mullhyttans kyrka stands on the south-western terrace of the Kilsbergen hills, at the heart of the industrial community of Mullhyttan in Örebro county. Built in the late 1920s, it began life as a modest wooden chapel serving a growing parish.

The church's origins lie in a chapel association formed in January 1926, after years of local fundraising. That November the association bought a partly built house in the village, known locally as "Kråkslottet" (the Crow Castle), on a plot of about one acre. Architect Karl Martin Westerberg, of the Royal Board of Building, drew up plans for the new chapel, which was consecrated on 18 December 1927 by Bishop Sam Stadener.

Much of the building work was carried out voluntarily, and most of the original furnishings were donated by parishioners. Among the gifts recorded were a decorative chancel window and an embroidered antependium made by a local needlework specialist. The chapel was formally handed over debt-free to Kvistbro parish in 1935, after which it could properly be called a church.

Constructed of timber with rendered outer walls, the building reflects the restrained classicism typical of Swedish church architecture in the 1920s. The nave can be opened up to a west-end parish hall, while the chancel in the east forms a barrel-vaulted recess. Three stained-glass windows adorn the chancel: the central one dates from 1927, while the two flanking it were brought from Kvistbro church in 1958. A decorative wall painting facing the chancel is the work of Bror Drake of Örebro.

The organ, sited on the gallery above the parish hall, was built in 1943 by Olof Hammarberg of Gothenburg, with a case designed by Westerberg himself. A red-painted bell tower, erected in 1930 and funded by a separate local collection, stands in the churchyard.

A thorough restoration in 1958, following a programme drawn up by Westerberg, altered the interior colour scheme to the lighter tones seen today, added a burial chapel in the basement, and gave the sacristy its own entrance. Further changes came in 2004, when the entrance area was extended to provide more practical facilities, including a kitchen and staff rooms upstairs.
