Maglarps kyrka is one of the oldest brick churches in Skåne, built around 1200 near Trelleborg. Also known as Maglarps gamla kyrka, it stands remarkably well preserved and holds a 13th-century font, a 1568 pulpit, and a 15th-century triumphal crucifix.

The church was built around 1200 and remains close to its original form, comprising an apse, chancel, nave and a broad west tower. Simple chalkstone friezes run along the chancel and apse roofline, and traces of the original south and north doorways survive in the nave. Most window openings date from the 1790s, though some may be enlargements of earlier, smaller ones.

Inside, the cross-vaults were added towards the end of the 1300s, a dating suggested by surviving fragments of limewash paintings on the vault surfaces; the church was originally covered by a timber roof. The original main altar survives, along with traces of two side altars in the east gable wall of the nave.

Archaeological investigation during restoration in 1970–71 found evidence of an earlier Christian burial ground on the site predating the brick church, along with a fire-damaged clay floor layer that may indicate an earlier timber church, though no definite trace of one was found. In the floor of the tower room, excavators discovered the church's only brick-built tomb, containing the skeleton of a man over 60, with a second grave of a man of similar age beside it lacking a coffin. These are thought, with reasonable probability, to be the graves of the church's founder and patron, who may have chosen the west tower as a mausoleum — a pattern seen in other churches in Skåne, though this interpretation has since been questioned, with some suggesting the tower room instead served a role in medieval liturgical processions.

Microscopic analysis of the brick used in the apse found that it was made using crushed brick waste as a tempering agent, suggesting it came from an established brickworks rather than being made specially for this small rural church — most likely the brickworks associated with the town church in nearby Trelleborg, since brick building was still very unusual in this region at the end of the 1100s.

The medieval church served the parish until 1909, when Maglarps nya kyrka was consecrated nearby, after which the old church stood unused for decades. It was reconsecrated in 1971 and resumed its role as parish church after the newer building was taken out of use in 1976 and demolished in 2007.

Notable furnishings include a square 13th-century font with rounded corner mouldings, a brass christening dish from the 1500s decorated with Saint George and the dragon, and a pulpit dated 1568 — among the oldest in Skåne — with a wooden canopy added in 1668. The Baroque altarpiece was carved in 1759 by Johan Ullberg, who made similar works for other churches on Söderslätt. The 15th-century triumphal crucifix is attributed to the so-called Törringe Master, a sculptor active in the region. The current organ was built in 1842 by Pehr Lund of Lund and later restored in the 1970s.
