Lövstabruks kyrka stands in the ironworking village of Lövstabruk, eleven kilometres south of Skärplinge in Uppsala county. Its richly preserved Baroque interior and celebrated 1728 organ make it one of Sweden's most distinctive parish churches, built for the workers and owners of a historic Walloon ironworks.

The site's first place of worship was a small wooden chapel established in 1615, of which little is known; it appears to have fallen into disrepair after the 1620s. A larger wooden chapel replaced it, completed in 1703, but this was destroyed along with the rest of the settlement during Russian raids in 1719–1721, a traumatic episode in the region's history. Rebuilding of the ironworks community took priority, with workshops, housing and the manor house restored before attention turned to a new church.

The present stone church was consecrated in 1727, commissioned by the De Geer family who owned the works, though its interior fittings were not fully finished until some years later, with the sacristy completed in 1735. The architect is generally identified as Joseph Gabriel Destain, though sources note his authorship is not entirely certain. The building is a plastered brick hall church in a restrained Carolinian Baroque style, with rounded arched windows and a saddleback roof crowned by decorative finials; little has altered the exterior since construction, aside from the roofing material, which was changed from Dutch glazed tile to wooden shingle as early as 1736.

Inside, the altarpiece and pulpit are noted for their craftsmanship, the pulpit especially for its dark blue drapery painting and an octagonal form reminiscent of Roman Borromini-style Baroque. Their maker is not firmly established: both sources point to a possible connection with the sculptor Herman Buck, while one account also raises the possibility of Burchard Precht's workshop. The pews are enclosed box pews, with specific seating historically reserved for smiths and for the manor household, and the two rearmost pews on the women's side retain wooden lattice screens and locks. The font was a gift from Baron Carl de Geer, with a later silver basin added in 1962.//
