In Roslagen, about six kilometres south of Björkö-Arholma church, lies the parish site of Karlberg. It is beautifully situated beside an inlet of Björköfjärden.
Originally, Karlberg was a small archipelago homestead where the family made their living from fishing and a small farm. From the early 1950s, Karlberg was used as a summer residence.
In the late 1960s the land was put up for sale, and Täby parish bought it in 1968. The aim was to create a place for camps, courses and conferences. The first camps were held in 1973.
Today Karlberg is a modern facility with parish buildings, meeting rooms, a dining hall and more. There are plans for sports and play areas as well as a bathing cove with canoes and sailing boats.
Karlberg's chapel was consecrated on 2 June 1991. The church room is cross-shaped and has a simple wooden altar. The architect is Uno Söderberg.
