Hyllie kyrka, on Gamlegårdsvägen in the Kroksbäck district of Malmö, is a modern parish church with a long history behind it. The current building dates from 1985, but it stands on the site of a much older church settlement whose story stretches back to the Middle Ages.

The medieval church of Hyllie stood in Hyllieby until it was demolished when a new church, built in 1889, took over parish duties; that building was later renamed Limhamns kyrka in 1908, when the parish itself changed its name. When Hyllie parish was re-established in 1969, a temporary timber "wandering church" served the congregation on Vanåsgatan in Limhamn before the present church was built.

The church seen today was designed by architect Allan Nilsson and consecrated on 8 December 1985. Rather than a conventional church building, it reuses Gamlegård, a four-winged farmstead dating from the 1840s, arranged in the traditional Scanian länga form with whitewashed walls and a clay-tiled saddle roof. The site of the original medieval church is now marked only by a cross in Hyllie cemetery.

Despite the modern setting, a tangible link to the medieval church survives: a font dating from the church's thirteenth-century origins. The altarpiece is the work of the artist Ulla Viotti.

The church has had a succession of organs reflecting its changing fortunes. An eighteenth-century instrument by Christian Fredrik Hardt served the old medieval church, followed by nineteenth-century and mid-twentieth-century organs, before the current mechanical organ was built in 1986 by A. Mårtenssons Orgelfabrik of Lund, shortly after the present church opened.

Hyllie parish today spans areas of marked social contrast, and the church places emphasis on community, simplicity and shared singing, with a notable diaconal outreach programme supporting people in need.
