It happens that villagers baptise their children and hold memorial gatherings at the missionshus. The building can be hired for baptisms, weddings and other alcohol-free gatherings. The missionshus seats around 70 people on the benches and 50 people around the coffee tables.
The building is owned by the EFS missionsförening in Hissjö, which was formed in 1908. Initially meetings were held in the schoolhouse before the association began building a missionshus, which was completed in 1941. Owing to its size, it served as a military billet during the Second World War.
