Hackås församling is a parish in Bergs kommun, in Jämtlands län, part of the Diocese of Härnösand. Its origins are medieval, and the parish today encompasses two churches: Hackås kyrka and Gillhovs kapell.

The parish of Hackås has roots stretching back to the Middle Ages, though the precise date of its founding is not recorded. Over the centuries it has been administratively linked with a shifting group of neighbouring parishes, including Näs, Oviken, Myssjö, Berg, Rätan and Klövsjö, reflecting the way rural Swedish parishes were often combined and separated for practical and ecclesiastical reasons.

A notable episode in its administrative history concerns Gillhov, which was separated from Hackås as its own parish in 1860, only to be reincorporated in 1926, retaining its own church records until 1940. This kind of division and reunification was not unusual for Swedish parishes during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as boundaries were redrawn to suit population and clergy needs.

Today the parish forms part of Sydöstra Jämtlands pastorat, having previously belonged to Södra Jämtlands pastorat until the end of 2021. The parish's two places of worship, Hackås kyrka and the smaller Gillhovs kapell, serve the local community and reflect this long and layered history of ecclesiastical reorganisation in the district.

Visitors interested in the wider story of Jämtland's rural churches will find in Hackås a good example of how parish life in this region evolved: shaped as much by administrative boundaries and shared clergy arrangements as by the buildings themselves.
