Grimmareds kyrka is a small stone church standing on the old border between Halland and Västergötland, near Veddige. It is notable for the Västergötland provincial coat of arms displayed on its bell tower, and for its light, simply decorated interior.

The oldest parts of the church date from the medieval period, with substantial sections of the present nave's western end believed to survive from that early stone building. The original chancel was replaced in 1803 by a wider one matching the width of the nave, and the tower was built onto the west end between 1811 and 1813, giving the exterior its restrained, neoclassical character. A sacristy was added to the north side in 1959.

Inside, the ceiling once carried decorative paintings attributed to Ditlof Ross, made sometime between 1730 and 1764. These were lost when a new ceiling was installed in 1862, though a painted apostle series on the gallery front by the same artist has survived. The church has two fonts: an eight-sided wooden font with a decorated basin in the chancel, and an older font in the porch, carved from a single log and dated to the sixteenth century, along with a brass christening dish from the same period.

The pulpit was made by Johannes Johansson of Mjöbäck and installed in 1862, and the altarpiece, showing a cross with a cloak and crown of thorns, was added in 1879. The current pews date from 1925.

The tower holds two bells: a smaller one cast in 1796 by J. Björkman of Gothenburg, and a larger one cast in 1821 by Th. Fries of Jönköping. The church's organ was built in 1955 by Liareds orgelbyggeri and replaced in 2006 by an instrument from Ernst Henrich Burgmann; the churchyard was also extended that year. According to one source, the church underwent a substantial interior renovation in 2013–2014.
