Gäddede kyrka, also known as Frostvikens kyrka, stands in the village of Gäddede beside Ströms vattudal in Jämtland. It is the main church of Frostviken parish, and its origins are closely tied to Magnus Selberg, the preacher who is thought to have both designed and built it.

The congregation's roots lie earlier, in a modest timber chapel known as Vikens kapell, built at Kvarnbergsvattnet between 1793 and 1799 and consecrated in 1794. It had timbered walls and a stamped earth floor, and was raised after the parish found itself administratively separated from Norway following a border settlement in the 1760s.

The present church was built to a design broadly resembling Östersund's old church, using timber framing with external and internal boarding. An inscription above the entrance records that it was erected "to the glory of God" and dedicated on 24 June 1839, during the reign of Karl XIV Johan. Magnus Selberg, the first resident preacher in Frostviken, is credited with the drawings and is thought to have acted as builder, though this remains uncertain. At the time of dedication the building was still incomplete, with accounts for painting recorded as late as 1844.

Subsequent decades brought gradual improvements: a gallery was added in 1874, and in 1883 the church was renovated, with new bells installed and the original wood-shingle roof replaced with tile, along with a gilded orb and cross for the tower. The two older bells, originally hung in Vikens kapell, were removed at this time and kept in reserve; one of them later had a curious afterlife, reportedly serving for a period as a fire-alarm bell in Sundsvall before its origin was traced years afterwards.//nn A more substantial rebuilding took place in 1933–34, when the old sacristy was demolished, a new chancel built in its place, and a fresh sacristy added at an angle to it. The floors and walls were insulated and the building fitted with electric heating and lighting.

Among the furnishings, the pulpit dates from 1839 and is attributed to Magnus Selberg himself. A pipe organ was installed during the 1930s rebuilding, built in 1934 by the firm E. A. Setterquist & Son of Örebro. The church was renovated again in 1974, when new pews were installed.
