Bunkeflo kyrka stands in the old village of Bunkeflo, southwest of Malmö, in the Limhamn parish of the Diocese of Lund. Consecrated in 1898, it replaced a much older stone church and remains a distinctive red-brick landmark on the edge of the city.

The present church was built between 1897 and 1898 to a design by the architect August Lindvall, replacing a small stone church whose oldest parts were thought to date from as early as the 1100s. The parish had first sought permission to demolish the old building in 1888, but approval was delayed until 1894; the old church was finally pulled down in 1896 once the new site had been acquired from a local farmer. Construction was awarded to builder P. Pettersson of Mellan-Grevie, known locally as "Kjårke-Pitter", whose tender of 54,000 riksdaler was the lowest received, though the total cost eventually rose to around 72,000. The new church was consecrated on 11 September 1898.

Built of red brick from the Minnesberg brickworks near Svedala, the church is a three-aisled building in the neo-Gothic style fashionable in Sweden at the time. A former parish schoolhouse from 1895 still stands on the churchyard grounds.

Among the furnishings, the altarpiece depicts the Lamb of God bearing the banner of victory, framed within a pointed trefoil arch. The finely carved oak font and its brass basin date from the mid-1600s, and the communion silver chalice is inscribed 1693. A wooden triumphal crucifix, carved by the Malmö sculptor Andréas Weijland in 1696, has an eventful history: removed when the old church was demolished, it was later used as an altar ornament during the major restoration of Lund Cathedral in the 1960s, before being returned to Bunkeflo in 1980, when its original colours were uncovered and the figure conserved.

The church's larger bell was donated in 1615 by Sigvardus Grubbe, governor of Malmöhus; intriguingly, analysis of its bronze has been linked to casting-pit remains found nearby during construction of the Malmö City Tunnel. The smaller bell, decorated with chain ornamentation, appears to have been recast when the bells were moved from a separate bell tower into the church tower in 1775, and bears the monogram of King Gustav III.

The church has had a succession of organs since 1752, and the current instrument, built in 1973, retains the façade of its 1898 predecessor. Visitors should be aware that the church has reportedly been closed to the public since 2017 because of structural concerns with the tower, with sources differing on whether repairs have since been completed; the current status of access should not be assumed from historical accounts.
