Botkyrka kyrka is our oldest church, with roots dating back to the 12th century. It has recently been renovated and is a fine local attraction and cultural heritage site.

Botkyrka kyrka was renovated between 2019 and 2025. The church has long been a pilgrimage church. It is named after Saint Botvid, who is said to be buried on the site. Many residents of Botkyrka celebrate life's great occasions such as baptism, confirmation and marriage in Botkyrka kyrka, and it is also the place where many have taken leave of their loved ones. Botkyrka churchyard surrounds the church building.

In connection with the renovation, the chancel window was uncovered, having been bricked up since 1928. Now light flows into the church hall as it once did before. The church has been made accessible and has a new heating system. The shingle roof is new, and the church's facade and windows have been renovated and restored. The church is now renovated and adapted for the future.
