Bjursås kyrka serves Bjursås parish in Dalarna, part of the Diocese of Västerås. This spacious neoclassical church, built at the turn of the 19th century, was designed to seat the entire population of the parish.

The present church was built between 1791 and 1803, replacing an earlier building that had become too small for the growing congregation. The design is attributed to the architect C. F. Adelcrantz, working in the neoclassical style then favoured for Swedish parish churches. It is a large single-nave hall church with a tower set to the side at the north end, built of rendered natural stone. At 54 metres long and 18 metres wide, with a 34-metre tower, it remains a striking and unusually large building for a rural parish.

Bjursås had earlier places of worship on the site of its predecessors: a chapel once stood on Dössberget, and a second chapel was built by the parish in 1599. The parish became an independent pastorate under Karl IX around 1607, prompting the construction of a smaller church, but by the late 18th century that building could no longer accommodate the congregation, leading to the decision in 1786 to build anew.

Inside, the altarpiece was painted by Bernt Svedin in 1742, having been retained from the earlier church. The old altar from that earlier building can now be seen in the so-called "lillkyrkan" (little church), a space created during renovations in 1921–22 when the spacious sacristy was reconfigured. The font dates from 1678 and is a simple round wooden piece.

The interior has a distinctive colour scheme: the inside of the pews is painted a warm reddish-brown, contrasting with the grey-blue exterior, a shade echoed more subtly on the church roof.

The gallery organ was built in 1961 by the Hammarbergs Orgelbyggeri workshop of Gothenburg, and remains a feature of note for visitors interested in the church's musical instruments.
