Björksätra kyrka is a modern parish church in Sandviken, built to serve the fast-growing Björksätra housing area in the 1970s. This guide draws on local and national sources to outline its history, architecture and a few notable features.

The church and adjoining parish hall were built as a combined brick complex, designed by architects Artur von Schmalensee and Hilding Lögdberg to meet the needs of the newly developed Björksätra district on the edge of Sandviken. It was consecrated on Thanksgiving Day (Tacksägelsedagen) in 1975 by Dean Clarence Nilsson.

The building is arranged around a central courtyard, which today functions as a devotional garden used for gatherings of various kinds — a pleasant, sheltered space within the wider complex.

Inside, the church hall has reddish-brown brick walls, a parquet floor and an open timber roof structure lined with wood panelling. The interior design reflects the colourful folk-inspired style fashionable in Swedish church architecture during the 1970s.

One feature of particular interest to visitors is a set of older, distinctive church windows hanging in the porch (vapenhuset), said to have come from the former Seljansborg church. The organ, built by Grönlunds Orgelbyggeri, has 13 stops across two manuals and pedal.
