Alböke kyrka is a parish church on the island of Öland, notable chiefly for its early thirteenth-century font carved with figures in low relief. Since the mid-nineteenth century the building has stood unusually oriented, with its altar towards the north rather than the traditional east.

A wooden church is thought to have stood on this site from the eleventh century, replaced by a stone church in the early twelfth century, of which some foundation traces survive nearby. That medieval building was later strengthened with defensive walls and an upper storey, becoming a fortified 'kämpe' or defence church where villagers could shelter in troubled times. Its appearance is recorded in a seventeenth-century drawing and later sketches by nineteenth-century antiquarians.

The present church was built between 1859 and 1862 to a design by the architect Albert Törnqvist, replacing the medieval structure. Unusually, it was constructed at right angles to its predecessor, which for some years continued to serve as a porch and stairway to the new gallery before eventually being demolished. This explains the church's rare north–south orientation, the only one of its kind on Öland. The walls are built of limestone, partly quarried locally and partly reused from the old churchyard wall.

Inside, the church shows neoclassical features typical of its period, including round-arched windows, a light-filled interior and a wooden barrel-vaulted ceiling. Much of the furnishing, however, was carried over from the older church, giving the interior a layered history. The pulpit and altarpiece, both dating from the 1790s, are worked in a local rococo style; the altarpiece incorporates two reused medieval wooden figures, thought to come from a late fifteenth-century altar cabinet.

Among the church's most valued possessions is the early thirteenth-century font, attributed to a Gotland workshop associated with the so-called Master Globus, decorated with seven arcaded panels bearing figures in relief. A triumphal crucifix from the fourteenth century and a north German Madonna image from the mid-fifteenth century are also preserved, the latter's halo possibly originating from the crucifix's original ring-cross. The church bell, recast in the seventeenth century, is said to carry text drawn from an even older bell.

The church's organ was rebuilt in the 1960s within a nineteenth-century case, retaining a purely mechanical action typical of Swedish organ-building of that era.
