Öja kyrka is a nineteenth-century parish church in Öja, Kronoberg county, now serving Gemla parish within the Diocese of Växjö. Built in restrained neoclassical style, it replaced a medieval predecessor and remains a striking landmark on the road between Öpestorp and Öja village.

The present church stands about a kilometre from the site of its medieval predecessor, a small tornless stone church with a detached bell tower, whose foundations can still be traced in the old churchyard. That earlier building had long been considered too small for the parish, and although enlargement was debated from the early 1800s, the decision was eventually taken to build anew rather than extend.

Designs in neoclassical style were drawn up in 1843 by Johan Carlberg of the Överintendentsämbetet, the royal office responsible for public buildings, but disagreement over the new church's location delayed work until 1852. Construction, overseen by master mason Johan Malmberg, was completed in 1854, and the church was consecrated the following year by Bishop Christopher Isac Heurlin. Stone from the demolished medieval church was reused as building material for the new one.

The building is a rendered and whitewashed stone hall church with an unusually placed tower to the east rather than the more conventional west end, a layout shared with a handful of other nineteenth-century Kronoberg churches. Fourteen tall round-arched windows fill the interior with light, and the ceiling is formed by a wooden barrel vault.

Among the furnishings is an older pulpit dating from around 1653, said to survive from the medieval church and considered one of the best-preserved examples of its kind in Småland; it was later moved to a room behind the organ. The altarpiece, a copy of Fredric Westin's painting in Stockholm's Sankt Jacobs kyrka, was made by Ludvig Frid in 1871, while an earlier altarpiece from 1703 survives from the original furnishings. Two bells hang in the tower, transferred from the old church's bell stage; the larger was first cast in 1547 and recast in 1884.

The interior underwent substantial renovation in 2012, prompted by problems with mould, resulting in a reordered church space with movable seating, a relocated sacristy, and new lighting and altar rail. The church's mechanical organ, built in 1972 by Västbo Orgelbyggeri, replaced two earlier instruments dating back to 1865.
